Jeffrey Jacobs- Cajunjj- Cajun Drummer

 Born on October 5, 1959 inThibodaux, Louisiana ( Queen city of Bayou Lafourche), I grew up in a music environment that was rich in talent. My parents owned music venues in the area for years. Employing many local musicians, I was exposed to music very early. I of course played in school and started playing out professionally at the age of 13. You can only get away with this in South Louisiana; at least at that time. By the time I was 15, I started to work with some of the more popular bands in the area. I did my first tour in 1974 and that is how I got to Colorado for the first time. I returned to La. after a year and finished high school.  By this time I had been doing sound on a local and regional level. I was the monitor engineer for Panther Sound Co. out of Houma La. I worked with numerous national and local bands in La., before I  decided to move to Colorado in 1982.

Before I move on to Colorado, I want to acknowledge my brothers and sisters in La. My family still lives in South Louisiana, and I always miss not being near them. Also, I dedicate this website and the idea of a communal space for musicians to share and promote themselves to my Mom and Dad whom are no longer with us. They were my biggest supporters when it came to the music business. We love and miss you!!

Now on to Colorado,I started doing sound locally in the Colorado Springs area and would pick up gigs as a monitor mixer for nationals coming through town. I also was doing front of house mixes for some local bands and clubs. I worked with Pro Audio Sound Co. in Colorado Springs and played drums with some fantastic players from the area until I moved to Denver..
